Temporary Document Control Specialist Job Description


  • The document control specialist position collects, maintains, and manages the release of engineering documentation to ensure the accurate control and timely release of product configuration information. This primarily includes the review and processing of Engineering Change Order content (drawings/CAD and bills of materials) for accuracy and consistency with the bill of materials database.

  • Essential Functions:

  • Organize, process and track Engineering Change Orders through release.
  • Review Engineering Change Requests/Notices for accuracy & completeness
  • Review drawing/CAD parts list changes and ensure consistency with bill of materials database.
  • Review computer database to ensure proper posting of drawings and other engineering documentation associated with the ECO release.
  • Perform clerical typing duties to generate/modify documents as necessary.

  • Technical document reading capacity (reading drawings, understanding of bills of materials)
  • Computer skills (Windows, MS Office, email, previous SharePoint / database experience strongly preferred)
  • Prior Windchill PLM software experience a plus

  • Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time temporary position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
